The Telstra Marketing Academy^® has been developed to help secondary school students learn more about marketing in the corporate environment and provide a learning task which supports the existing secondary school curriculum.

Your students and school can also enter the Telstra Marketing Academy^® competition, offering great prizes and the chance to win the opportunity to complete work experience in a Telstra marketing role.

The Telstra Marketing Academy^® gives your selected students the chance to understand one of Australia's largest companies. Through this they'll learn practical skills such as problem solving, oral and written communication, critical thinking and teamwork.

During the course students will:

• Gain specific understanding of business concepts and plans
• Establish project objectives and identify strategies
• Develop skills in marketing including market research, creative development, financial/data analysis, market segmentation and product differentiation
• Implement promotions and campaigns that will align with specific learning outcomes

All schools participating in the Telstra Marketing Academy^® will be provided with the following project materials:

• Telstra marketing case study
• Lesson plans
• Reference material
• In class activities
• Project and assessment outline

Project materials have been developed to support the Business Management/Studies Key Learning Areas, and can also be used to support English, Media Studies, Psychology, Information Technology and VET courses.

• As a teacher in VIC and NSW, you're invited to run the Telstra Marketing Academy^® program
• When you apply, you and your school could also be invited to attend an excursion through the T [life] store
• After you apply, you'll receive an email on whether you're successful
• You'll receive a teaching kit with lesson plans, presentation material, guidelines and facilitation notes to assist you with running the program in class
• Students will work on a project brief and present their concepts to your class, with winning ideas awarded with certificates and rewards
• You can then send the winning presentation to Telstra via post or online to enter it into the regional Next G^™ Network competition
• First, second and third place regional winners will go into the State competition, with the chance to win a $10,000 school grant, and other rewards
• Winning students of the State competition will also receive the opportunity to complete two weeks of work experience with a marketing team at Telstra
• Students can also enter the Ad Life competition for the opportunity to do work experience for a week in one of Telstra's advertising agencies
